Professional Referrals

A thoughtful next step for hands-on care.

Matrix Bodywork provides assessment-driven orthopedic and clinical bodywork that can complement an existing plan of care. Referrals are welcomed from healthcare professionals throughout the Wilmington area.

A complementary role

Hands-on care designed to support, not replace, medical treatment or rehabilitation.

Matrix Bodywork works alongside chiropractors, physical therapists, physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals when a client may benefit from focused soft-tissue and movement support.

Each session begins with an assessment and stays within massage-therapy scope. When a client authorizes communication, Don can share concise observations and progress updates that help keep care coordinated.

When a referral may fit

Consider Matrix when hands-on care could complement the work already underway.

These examples describe common referral contexts—not diagnoses, eligibility rules, or promised outcomes.

01

Post-surgical mobility support

For clients who have been medically cleared and may benefit from careful scar, fascial, or soft-tissue work alongside rehabilitation.

02

Persistent soft-tissue restriction during ongoing care

When rehabilitation, chiropractic, training, or medical care is ongoing or transitioning, focused hands-on soft-tissue work may complement the existing plan.

03

Persistent workload or movement complaints

For active adults and professionals managing repetitive strain, training demands, or recurring movement limitations.

04

Scar and fascial restrictions

When mature or healing scar tissue appears to be affecting comfort, mobility, or the way surrounding tissues move.

05

A need for focused soft-tissue support

When assessment-driven orthopedic massage may complement a broader medical, rehabilitation, or wellness plan.

Available approaches

The method follows the assessment—not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Techniques are selected for the client’s presentation, goals, tolerance, and existing care plan.

How collaboration works

Simple communication, clear boundaries, and respect for the client’s care team.

Bodywork does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace medical evaluation, physical therapy, or physician-directed treatment.

01

Start with useful context

Share the referral question, relevant precautions, and any goals or restrictions that should guide the session.

02

Confirm client consent

Communication with a referring professional happens only with the client’s permission.

03

Assess and treat within scope

Don evaluates movement and tissue response, then selects appropriate hands-on methods.

04

Close the loop

When helpful and authorized, the referring professional receives a concise update on observations, response, and next steps.

Two ways to begin

A referral can be formal or simply a trusted recommendation.
